Interest picqued---saw another geneology file from Virginia claiming
2 Griffin brothers sailed from Wales in 1635 and settled in New York,
with descendants listed in NY and CT but was unsure if anyof them
went South. My father was born in Calhoun County, MS and thought
his forebears came from Georgia: those records at courthouse burned.
Mississippi family were probably travelling preachers...

Just checking out the family name interesting to see your website. I think my fathers family originally came from somewhere in Ireland in the late 18th or early 19th century.
Do you know how the name Griffin came to be - was it folks who were good at finding gold - like the mythical bird?
thanks

He married Elizabeth Jane Boldon in Indiana where they had a family. We assume he died before she moved to Wisconsin. Could you let me know if this could be him or if you know of any other missing David's. Thanks much. I have also been in contact with Nancy White/same family/she has no information on him either. Hi, I found your page quite by accident. Family tree stuff is sort of new to me but my mother was Ella Louise Carden Stanley and she was a daughter of James Edgar Carden who married
Lola Dove Hylton. I've found quite a few of the Cardens on the web. Hugh Brodie Carden was my great grandfather and he was married to Sarah Ellen Carden. She was a Carden too but from a different line. It is very interesting. I really enjoyed looking at your pages and maybe you can give me some help.
None of the relatives from my moms generation to mine and their children are not listed anywhere as I can see. Thanks for sharing your pages. It was quite interesting.

I believe his father was John Griffin, Jr., son of John Griffin, Sr. son of Jones Griffin of Old 96 District, but have not yet been able to prove it. Jones had three known sons: John, Jesse and Horatio Griffin. I would like to hear from anyone who is descended from this family.

I was born Theresa Hannah and have been curious about my grandmother. She was schooled in a convent in the Battlefords here in Saskatchewan and I was born in Ontario. I now am full circle back here, and have confusion as to where she was from.
Because of her convent upbringing, her records were in a school in Lebret, where a fire destroyed the documentation. She was called Dolly Mulligan, with her maiden name being either Griffin or Griffith. She had a sister Pearl. Dolly never knew if her birthday was truly on April 26th. She did not even know if her full first name was Dorothy, Delia, or Delilah. Can you help me?
Thanks for your time and consideration.

Just checking to see how many of us Griffo's there are in this world. One thing that pissed me off in High school was that 90% of teachers spelt our name griffen! At that time there was only 8 names in the phone book compared to 3000 Griffin's. Anyway, all you GRIFFIN'S in the US Rock On!

My father, bernerd W.alker Potts walked in a parard in Detroit< Michigan between 1910 and 1915 with his grandfather, John Wesley Walker. I wonder if we are related. My grandmother's name was Ivy Walker and she had at least one brother by the name of Harry Walker.
